Have you made your vision board yet? It’s such a fun, simple project for any age when looking to accomplish goals in your life….and it definitely works. Doesn’t matter if you are 5 or 55, it’s never too late to visualize what you want for the future. Although you can make one at any time of the year, most people like fresh starts and the beginning of the year is a great time to make yours to set your short term and long term goals for the new year. I’ve made vision boards since college and watched my goals come true over the years. No dream is too big or too small. The theory is that “you become what you think about”. If you visualize something everyday, it’s more likely to come into your life. This is also called “The Law of Attraction”…and vision boards are the best way to make this happen!
My vision boards consists of 10 categories 1) People I want to work with and meet, 2) Career goals, 3) Family goals, 4) Philanthropic activities, 5) Fitness goals, 6) Places to visit, 7) Foods to eat / drink , 8) Quotes to live by, 9) Things that inspire me 10) Musical inspirations 11) Things to obtain….Basically everything that I want to manifest in my life, physically and spiritually. Nothing is too big or too small!
How to Start:
The first step is to keep a notepad near (or iPhone Notes) to constantly write down these things on a daily basis until you have about 75-100 things (that is usually enough to fill up a poster board). Once you have enough on the list, use Google images or Pinterest to save the best photos of these items. Some people use magazines, but the Internet lets you grab unlimited options to use. Open a MS Word document and paste 3-4 images on a page. Once all the images are ready, get to a good color printer and print away. Next, layout on a giant poster board until it’s filled. If you have blank spaces, try and fill it in, even if it takes a few more days. Once the board is covered, glue the photos down, let dry then apply 2 coats of modge podge for a glossy finish that will last. Keep your vision board in a place that you will see it everyday whether its the bathroom, office, bedroom, etc. You can also take a photo of your board and use as a Wallpaper on your computer background and iPhone.
